VALUE FOR MONEY PROCUREMENT

The concept of value for money has many facets. Simply stated it means, in the case of a construction project, "Is the completed construction project worth the money spent and will it serve the intended purpose?".

I meant the factors to be considered for achieving value for money procurement in executing construction projects.

Let me Quote some para from Tanzania Procurement Journal ISSN:1821 - 6021 VOL V - No 7 OF 14/02/2012 HEADING VALUE FOR MONEY DOUBTS IN POWER TILLERS PROCUREMENTS
Visiting to some selected villages indicated that in some areas, the power tillers were not appropriate solution due to the type of soil in those areas. Thus Power tillers failed to till the soil and were used for ather activities........
Since The use of power tillers and its output depends on the type of soil........

In this Fact the value for money was not achieved in spending Public Funds on some areas Procured Power Tillers

Main Factos Being poor planning,Incompetance evaluation commettee, Poor Specification, incase for Consultant may be poor term of refference,Credibility of the Consultant,Contractors,suppliers, Quality of services,Works,Consultancy offered, Actual of work done Compered with amount paid etc. These factors affecting value for money procurement in executing the building/construction project to both sides of Project Consultants and Contratcors
